正式名称はKAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT(カメンライダードラゴンナイト)。
「パワーレンジャー」シリーズと同様に、日本版の戦闘パートを新規撮影されたシーンと織りまぜながら流用し、変身前のドラマパートを現地の俳優が演じる制作方式を用いている。
アメリカで製作された仮面ライダーシリーズとしては『仮面ライダーBLACKRX』をベースとした「マスクド・ライダー」に次いで2作目となる。
また、この作品では原典である『仮面ライダー龍騎』で秋山蓮（仮面ライダーナイト）役を演じていた松田悟志が本作における同じポジションであるレン（仮面ライダーウイングナイト）の日本語吹き替えを演じているのを始め、主要人物の日本語吹き替えを担当しているキャストの多くが平成ライダーに出演経験のある俳優・声優であるという特徴がある。
