世界的な超ヒットSF映画『スター・ウォーズ』シリーズの『スター・ウォーズ エピソード2/クローンの攻撃』と『スター・ウォーズ エピソード3/シスの復讐』の間に起きた「クローン戦争」事件の中盤部分を映像化した作品。映画間のミッシングリンクを埋める物語として製作されており、映画本編では明かされなかった意外な人物関係もここで語られる興味深い趣向になっている。映画原作・監督のジョージ・ルーカスが監修を務めた。各話は約5分枠で全20話。共和国とシスの暗黒卿との戦いのさ中、正義の使徒・ジェダイの騎士の一人オビ＝ワンは、弟子の青年アナキン・スカイウォーカーを指揮。二人は、かつては共和国の騎士ながら、今は暗黒面に堕ちた人物ドゥークー伯爵に戦いを挑む。だが伯爵は、オビ＝ワンの師匠クワイ＝ガン・ジンのさらに師匠だった！彼に剣を向けることに心を痛めるオビ＝ワンだが、伯爵はそんな彼にも容赦なく、現在の配下である最強の女戦士アサージ・ヴェントレスをジェダイ抹殺に差し向ける。
