映画 CODE 8/コード・エイト Part II
「CODE 8/コード・エイト」の続編となる本作では、コナー (ロビー・アメル) は刑務所から出所し、かつての共犯者ギャレット (スティーヴン・アメル) とは手を切り、コミュニティセンターの清掃員として働き始めます。面倒なことは避けていたコナーですが、14歳の少女パバニ (シレーナ・グラムガス) をキング巡査部長 (アレックス・マラリ・Jr) 率いる汚職警察官たちから救うため、仕方なく手を貸すことに。キングは新たに導入されたロボット警察犬を使用してパバニを追跡し、一方コナーは、ギャレットとその一味に協力を求めるため、再び接触します。しかし、コナーは自分を刑務所送りにしたその男を信用できるのでしょうか。

職を失ったばかりのトラヴィス（エイドリアン・ブロディ）は、恋人のベイ（マギー・グレイス）とインドへ旅行するため、日給1,000ドルの実験に参加する。それは、被験者24人が刑務所と同じ環境で看守役と囚人役に分かれて過ごすというものだった。しかし、囚人役となったトラヴィスは看守役のバリス（フォレスト・ウィッテカー）と対立し……。＜解説＞日本でも話題となったドイツ映画『es [エス]』の元ネタになった心理実験を題材にしたサスペンス・スリラー。被験者が刑務所と同じ環境で看守役と囚人役に分かれ、14日間を過ごす実験の結末が描かれる。監督は、「プリズン・ブレイク」のポール・シュアリング。『戦場のピアニスト』エイドリアン・ブロディが囚人、『ラストキング・オブ・スコットランド』のフォレスト・ウィッテカーが看守を演じる。人間の本質に迫る衝撃の展開に注目。

Grindhouse combines Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, a horror comedy about a group of survivors who battle zombie-like creatures, and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, an action thriller about a murderous stuntman who kills young women with modified vehicles. It is presented as a double feature with fictitious exploitation trailers preceding each segment.
